Heterologous PMA

Heterologous PMA

Heterologous PMA allows us to resolve the reproductive problems of couples who are unable to produce gametes (oocytes and/or spermatozoa) capable of giving rise to pregnancy. This may be due to pathologies, be related to advancing female age or the onset of menopause.

In the case of heterologous PMA with donated sperm, first or second level PMA techniques can be used (depending on any problems of the female partner).

In the case of egg donation, the oocytes are fertilized with the partner’s sperm and then transferred to the uterus, following pharmacological preparation of the endometrium with estrogen and progesterone.

In the case of unsolvable reproductive problems of both members of the couple, the so-called combined donation is possible, i.e. both oocytes and sperm.
